Hawzah News Agency (Yazd, Iran) – A joint meeting was held in Iranian city of Yazd on Monday in which the head of Islamic seminary of Yazd as well as some English-speaking clerics took part.
The first Imam Hussain (as) mourning ceremony in English held in Yazd
For the first time, Imam Hussain (as) mourning ceremony was held in English language for tourists and foreign residents in Yazd city, Iran.
At the beginning of the meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Alireza Mirjalili, a seminary cleric remarked, "This year, for the first time in history we held Imam Hussain (as) mourning ceremonies in English in which a lecturer from London Islamic center as well as a Muslim eulogist from the US addressed the mourners in Shahzadeh Fazel tomb in Yazd.
The cleric further referred to the international campaign called "Who is Hussain?" which was established by some Londoner youth in 2012 and said, "These Muslim youth started their movement by handing out some brochures introducing people to Imam Hussain (as); they believed that in order to promote public awareness regarding Imam al-Asr’s (as) global uprising, people need to first become familiar with Imam Hussain (as) and his legacy."
"Who is Hussain?" campaign active in 100 countries worldwide
Asserting that the campaign soon vent viral all around the world, Hujjat al-Islam Mirjalili added, "Who Is Hussain campaign is currently active in more than 100 countries worldwide; the Iranian province of Yazd also joined the campaign this year by establishing two offices to support this global movement."
